About the CU System
The CU System office, located in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood, brings together administrative departments and services centers that provide guidance and services to all CU Campuses. In 2019, The Denver Post named System Administration as one of the top workplaces in the state, listed at No. 30 out of 150 based on employee feedback.
In total CU contributed $5.4 billion to the Colorado economy. CU contributes to the economy as well as fostering innovation through research. This past fiscal year, CU received $770 million in sponsored research awards to conduct research in economic sectors including energy, bioscience, aerospace and health care. This research allowed for 238 invention disclosures, 115 new patent filings and 242 follow-on filings. Eight new companies were formed based on CU technology.
This hard work of both students and faculty is consistently recognized nationally. To date, CU student accomplishments include: five Marshall Scholarship recipients, 79 Fulbright Fellows, 19 Rhodes Scholars, eight Truman Scholarship recipients, seven Goldwater recipients and three Udall Scholarship recipients. Equally impressive are the faculty honors including: Five Nobel Laureates, nine MacArthur Fellowships, and one Carnegie Foundation Professor of the Year.
