See how Colorado colleges rank among U.S. universities for R&D spending

Colorado colleges rank among the top 100 U.S. colleges that are most active in research and development, according to a new report from the National Science Foundation.
The University of Colorado-Boulder had $499,389,000 in R&D spending in fiscal year 2017, putting it in 48th place in the foundation's annual Higher Education Research and Development Survey.
The University of Colorado-Denver and the Anschutz Medical Campus had $480,598,000 in R&D spending in 2017, ranking 50th, and Colorado State University had $338,404,000, ranking 70th.
Johns Hopkins University, at $2.56 billion, finished as the nation's No. 1 university for expenditures on research and development. Eleven other schools topped $1 billion last year, based on the foundation's report.
The top 100 universities in the national rankings combined for R&D spending of $59.41 billion a year ago.
