University of Colorado Denver Turns 50: Join the Celebration
From graduations to new student orientations and finals, universities are used to adapting to change. But for CU Denver, change is not something you adapt to; it is something you embrace.
And while the world and our campus has certainly changed over the past 50 years, one thing has stayed the same: our commitment to providing high-quality education and serving our community. In 1973, a Colorado constitutional amendment established CU Denver, which had been an extension campus, as an independent institution of higher education. Half a century later, more than 110,000 alumni have benefitted from the affordable, high-quality education that CU Denver provides.
The 50th anniversary creates an opportunity to reignite old connections and create new ones. Throughout this academic year, we will celebrate this incredible milestone for our modern university with a variety of events, activities, and opportunities to remember our past, applaud our students, staff, and faculty, and look forward to the future.
We don’t want to give too many spoilers, but you can expect multimedia storytelling, new CU Denver gear, a pop-up history exhibit, time capsule, and chances to share your CU Denver memories.
