Celebrating CU system staff Mardi Gras style

CU system staff appreciation

The University of Colorado System Staff Council held its staff appreciation breakfast celebration on Mardi Gras, complete with king cake, feathered masks and, of course, beads. More than 100 system employees took part, enjoying meat and cheese stuffed croissants, fruit and most importantly the camaraderie.

The past several months, the staff council has hosted events that benefit employees and the community. Some noteworthy activities include:

  • A successful blood drive
  • A brown-bag lunch series that features experts from across the four campuses and administration
  • A bake sale and Junior Diabetes Research Foundation walk that collectively raised more than $4,000 for the charity
  • The annual employee of the year award and celebration
  • A toy drive for the families of Buckley Air Force Base

System Staff Council serves as an advocate for classified and university staff within System Administration.  Staff council is looking for volunteers, other than SSC members, to assist with committees and activities. As the number of employees continues to grow, the request for volunteers has become greater. Visit http://www.cu.edu/ssc to get involved.
