What Can I get from a MOOC?

Learners can take MOOCs for free, or pay either a monthly subscription or a one-time fee to participate in a course or specialization on Coursera.  You gain access to all learning materials if taking it for free, but by paying the fee, you can get feedback on the assessments and you progress as well as earn a certificate upon completing the course or specialization.
 

Video Content The primary instructional content in MOOCs are short lecture videos. You can access all video material even if you're taking a MOOC for free.	Assessment Feedback   Paying for the MOOC unlocks the opportinity to receive feedback on assessments.
Reading Content There is often reading material that supplements the video content. This is also avialable at no cost.	Certificate   Learners can earn a certificate upon completing a MOOC if they chose to pay for it.
Assessments Learners taking MOOCs for free can still access all assessments.
Access to peer discussion Discussing and sharing materials with fellow learners is encouraged for all participants.
