Colorado State Senators Attend CU-Boulder Aerospace Summit
Senator Randy Baumgardner (R-Cowdrey) and Representatives J. Paul Brown (R-Ignacio), Bob Rankin (R-Carbondale), Dan Thurlow (R-Grand Junction), Gordon Klingenschmitt (R-Colorado Springs), and Yeulin Willett (R-Grand Junction) attended CU-Boulder’s Aerospace Summit. The program highlighted CU-Boulder’s renowned space science programs and central role in the Colorado aerospace industry. Keynote speaker Dr. Dan Baker, Director of Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP), illustrated how space weather impacts every day technology.
Other notable attendees included CU-Boulder Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano, Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) Aerospace and Defense Industry Champion Maj. Gen. Jay H. Lindell, MAVEN Principal Investigator Dr. Bruce Jakosky, Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department Chair Penny Axelrad, and retired National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Astronaut and CU-Boulder Scholar in Residence James Voss.
