CU Anschutz Medical Campus Marcus Institute for Brain Health Hosts Luncheon
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) hosted a luncheon near the Capitol for state legislators. Located on the Anschutz Medical Campus, the MIBH provides exceptional care for people with mild to moderate brain injuries, including concussions, and changes in psychological health. The MIBH has specialty services for military Veterans with mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and post-traumatic stress (PTS), depression, and anxiety. They also serve retired athletes who have had head trauma and are in need of comprehensive care. Chancellor Don Elliman kicked-off the March 15 luncheon, followed by MIBH Executive Director, Dr. James Kelly who gave an informative presentation along with coworkers and Veterans, Mike Hartford and Spencer Milo. Legislators in attendance included Senators Larry Crowder (R-Alamosa), Chris Holbert (R-Parker), Cheri Jahn (U-Wheatridge), Kevin Priola (R-Adams), Nancy Todd (D-Aurora), and Representatives Phil Covarrubias (R-Brighton), Tony Exum, Sr. (D-Colorado Springs), Edie Hooton (D-Boulder), Pete Lee (D-Colorado Springs), Susan Lontine (D-Denver), Paul Lundeen (R-Monument), Dafna Michaelson Jenet (D-Commerce City), Bob Rankin (R-Carbondale), Kim Ransom (R-Littleton), Paul Rosenthal (D-Denver), Lori Saine (R-Dacono), Lang Sias (R-Arvada), Jonathan Singer (D-Boulder), Donald Valdez (D-La Jara), and Kevin Van Winkle (R-Highlands Ranch).
