Federal Government Transition Update - 1.29.25
Dear Colleagues,
Today, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued a new memorandum, which rescinds a previous order from January 27 that froze federal funding for grants and assistance. The recission follows a temporary stay on the freeze directive issued by a federal judge yesterday moments before the order was slated to take effect. We ask all campuses to continue their work on federal grants as normal as we await further agency guidance on the implementation of other Executive Orders, unless you receive a cease-and-desist, stop work order or other communication directly from a federal agency. In such instances, University Counsel advises you reach out immediately to your Office of Grants and Contracts for additional support.
Please continue to contact your campus leadership with questions and to highlight impacts of executive actions on your projects, programs, and departments. The Office of University Counsel and the Office of Federal Relations will continue to analyze the potential impact of these actions on the university. Please visit the federal relations website for communications and federal memos at https://www.cu.edu/office-government-relations/federal-relations/federal-transition-updates.
