The Office of Policy and Efficiency (OPE) announces the approval of a new administrative policy statement (APS7009 - Protection of Children Participating in University-Run and University-Contracted Programs for Children) which will clarify the expectations and outline campus requirements to provide for the protection of children who are participating in programs for children on campuses.

The policy applies to all university-operated and university-contracted programs for children and any unaffiliated program operators who operate programs for children on university-owned facilities. 

The new policy was developed in consultation with the campus compliance coordinators, campus attorneys and risk management. The proposed policy was reviewed by the campus Chancellors and approved by President Bruce Benson and is effective as of October 4, 2017.
