The Office of University Controller (OUC) will be presenting Town Hall sessions this fall to share recent accomplishments and new initiatives with department staff. Discussion topics include the Finance System upgrade, Cognos financial reports, Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and other training, FinPro Help Desk support, and the brand new OUC website.
The interactive format includes a presentation, Q&As, and small group discussions on areas of particular interest to individual participants.
We launched our 2012 CU CPE for CPAs Program with two days (and 14 credits) of courses in September. The classes filled quickly and the participants gave them high marks … again. Over 97 % of attendees agreed instructors were effective and 99% felt that the learning objectives were met.
Participants praised the courses as “Very informative. Robert is an expert in this area.” Or, “Very engaging. Kept everyone involved and did great answering questions as they come up.” Several noted that the topics were an “important area!”
Question: What is the University of Colorado Accounting Handbook?
Answer: A new consolidated source for accounting information and procedures, applicable to all campuses.
Congratulations to our new Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Todd Saliman, and to our new Associate Vice President & Chief Business Officer, Geoff Barsch.
We’ll miss former VP Kelly Fox, who is now Senior Vice Chancellor for Budget & Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the Boulder Campus … but we’re excited to be working with Todd and Geoff.
You can sign up now for OUC-sponsored Fundraising Event Training. Learn all about policies/procedures, responsibilities of org units and campus/System controllers’ offices, and compliance issues relating to sales tax, gift tax receipting, and sponsorships. Also look for the additional Issues Forums at some campuses.
