How is your department doing in these areas?
- Is your department helping faculty balance their research and non-research obligations?
- Is your department doing its best to communicate financial information to stakeholders?
See what your CU colleagues are doing ... and see if their solutions work for you.

- The Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus created an in-house research support program to help clinical faculty be successful in two very different missions. Since early-career clinical faculty tend not to have funding for hiring research staff, Merlin Ariefdjohan, Emmaly Perks, and Melissa Sinclair, in the Child and Adolescent Division in Psychiatry, created an in-house research support team to assist in research methodology (regulatory, study design, data management, statistical analysis, etc.). The result is savings in time/effort, increased scholarly productivity (manuscript submissions/publications and presentations at professional conferences), improved morale/staff retention, and higher quality in clinical care. Given its success, the team plans to expand at the Departmental level. See Advancing Scholarship Through an In-House Research Support Center.
- CU System developed an online educational resource site to explain CU's financial position and annual report. Chris Seek and Pat Birks in the Office of University Controller created a website and video to explain essential information behind CU’s Annual Financial Report, including why we do it, and what you can learn from it. By crafting a story around the numbers, the site helps internal and external stakeholders -- regardless of accounting background -- understand the University's financial position and what, at a high level, is going on at CU.
