Project Description

Used Power Automate and connected programs to automate the process in which activities requiring permits are delivered, reviewed, and approved by Public Safety, using preexisting software and programs at no additional cost to the University. Activities include special events, open flame, artificial smoke or haze, hot work, and simulated weapon permits.

Project Efficiency

This automation streamlines communication for permit required events between Public Safety, Event Services, Facility Services, and Preforming Arts, by allowing the client facing groups to easily submit all needed information to Public Safety for review in an easy way. The automation also includes automatic email and permit generation to submitters to let them know the status of their requests.

Project Inspiration

The inspiration of this project was to make what could easily spin into a convoluted task of tracking multiple people down and making sure everyone is on the same page into a simple process that was effective and easy to follow.

What Makes You Happiest about this Project?

What makes me the happiest about this project is the reduction in workload for coworkers and others involved in both the submission and review process.
