Project Description

The PingFederate IAM support team will save approximately $46153.85 in labor costs every three years by switching to self-signed certificates for SAML communications, eliminating the need for annual certificate updates. The team of four resources spent 96 hours making the change, each earning an average of $100K. Additionally, the team implemented automatic notification of expiring SAML certificates to customers a year in advance, providing ample time to update their certificates. This cost savings and proactive approach demonstrate the efficiencies that can be achieved through thoughtful technology and process changes.

Project Efficiency

The greatest efficiency is the switch to a less frequent update of the certificate.

Project Inspiration

SAML certificate updates take a lot of time away from our IAM team. Controlling when the certificates expire and automating their update will save our resources a lot of time.

What Makes You Happiest about this Project?

It frees our resources from maintenance work so that we can focus on our larger goals of making the authentication process faster and hassle-free. It will also free our resources to work more on the provisioning processes we should.
