Description
Water fill trucks were developed to provide large quantities of filtered water at CU events such as Taste of CU. Additionally, bottle fill stations have been installed in residence halls to reduce the amount of bottled water on campus. Utilizes reverse osmosis, UV, and other technologies to filter the water.
How does this impact the University?
Reduces use of individual bottled water on campus in favor of refilling reusable bottles. Diverts plastic waste from landfills.
Implementation Status
Water truck is used for events, and bottle fill stations have been installed in residence halls. Diverts over 20,000 16oz plastic bottles from landfill per year.
