Payroll/Benefit Accounting - Retirement Accountant
Jan is responsible for general accounting of the University of Colorado's tax-deferred annuity and retirement plans. Responsibilities include preparation, submission, reconciliation, support, and review of payroll contributions and remittances; work with vendor representatives to resolve remittance or contribution issues; work with Employee Services PERA administrator to prepare and submit PERA independent contractor filings and remittances; and, preparation and submission of quarterly workers' compensation, unemployment, and multiple-worksite reports.
Facts
- Prior work experience at CU includes the offices of System Budget & Finance and Vice President of Academic Affairs: provided accounting and financial reporting support, and oversaw System initiatives, gift funds, and scholarships.
- Prior work experience in the private sector includes cost accounting, asset accounting, general accounting, inventory control, financial project and process improvements, and support of manufacturing, marketing, R&D, facilities, and QA departments.
- Education: BA in Social Sciences from Colorado State University
