Across CU’s four campuses, data is at the core of department processes, whether it’s collecting data, storing data and defending against data leaks. CU’s Data Governance model aims to ensure this information is understood, easily accessible and properly used to drive future projects and missions.

Mission

Data Governance at CU is intended to build a culture that sees the value of data and leverages that value. A CU-wide program improves access to and understanding of institutional metadata, and employs effective usability and security of CU’s data.

Objectives

  • Improve and update policies and practices around data.
  • Further define roles, responsibilities and processes.
  • Identify, organize, categorize and improve access to metadata.
