CU System Administration – including the Office of University Controller and FSS Help – will close at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, and reopen for normal business hours on Monday, December 2.
The purpose of the What Makes an Effective Leader? course is to provide participants with strategies that draw on personal strengths to address a variety of challenges.
Effective leadership is usually the result of a leader being able to draw on different strengths and styles in order to best respond to situations and drive the best results. Drawing on the work of Daniel Goleman, the instructor will present his proposed six leadership styles and how and when they should be used. These leadership styles spring from the components of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management.
Participants must bring a laptop to the class so they can complete an online assessment as one of the course exercises.
