More than 150 guests attended CU Advocacy Day at the Capitol, including CU Advocates, alumni, donors, legislators, regents and friends.
The annual event, which took place January 29, began at the Denver Consistory, and included a breakfast with legislators. Also featured was a panel including Speaker of the House KC Becker (D-Boulder), Assistant Minority Leader Kevin Van Winkle (R-Highlands Ranch), and Senators Tammy Story (D-Conifer) and Kevin Priola (R-Adams), with Vice President of Government Relations Tanya Kelly-Bowry moderating the panel. The conversation included updates on changes coming to higher education policy, funding for higher education, and potential policy issues during the 2019 legislative session.
