Life after CUSP
You know what the CU Shared Practices (CUSP) Program is: a recognition program, administered by the OUC, that provides a venue for sharing best practices across the campuses. CUSP highlights innovative ways in which employees have made their departments work better, and it rewards the best of the submissions with cash prizes.
But there’s more to it than that.
Many CUSP submissions gain additional energy and attention long after the CUSP award reception is over. One example of this is our new Continuing Professional Education (CPE) course on Paperless Financial Reconciliation, to be offered for the first time on February 18. This valuable and practical course was based on a CUSP 2012 submission by Bryn Samuelson and Melissa Wait (at the time, both from the Boulder Campus). Titled “Electronic Expense Filing System,” their best practice won top prize in the program that year. (For more information on the CPE course, see www.cu.edu/controller/cpe/?page_id=1504.)
So — start something good. Tell us what you’ve done by visiting the the CUSP website at www.cu.edu/controller/initiatives/cusp/?page_id=30. Who knows how far your best practice will go. Submission deadline is April 30.
