Bringing the Cognos software up to date will protect us against the problem we still have occasionally with long load times. The latest release from IBM/Cognos is known as Fix Pack 4. It was applied to Cognos QA over the weekend. If no problems are found in testing then Fix Pack 4 will be applied to Cognos production this weekend, Nov 14, 2014. If you have a chance this week, please try some reports in Cognos QA to confirm that Fix Pack 4 is ok.

Today we are running Fix Pack 4 in production. There is one known issue. Reports occasionally do not run, instead returning error message "XQE-CM-0004 Unable to parse the data source command block". We did not see this in Cognos QA last week during testing of Fix Pack 4 there. UIS/IRM is seeking support from the vendor IBM/Cognos for troubleshooting today.
Hi, did you ever get a resolution to the command block error? This is the only place on the web I have seen someone have this issue and was wondering if it ever got fixed?
marc - it has been a while but what i recall is the solution was to go all dqm. no drilling from cqm to dqm or the other way around.
