Elevate: FIN Upgrade - What's Happening?
In less than five months, CU will transition to a new PeopleSoft Finance System. If you use the Finance System to look up SpeedTypes … or process journal entries … or manage capital assets … or accomplish any number of other financial activities: November 2015 is an important month for you. That’s when we make the move to FIN 9.2.
The Office of University Controller (OUC) wants to make the transition as smooth as possible for you. So we’ll be providing regular updates on FIN 9.2 – what’s in it for you. Today we’ll begin with a short recap of recent activity to bring you up to date:
- Testing – In June, a new round of testing began. Over 200 individuals across CU are checking out scenarios and reporting how the system work – or not. We appreciate their terrific efforts.
- Communications and Training – We’ve been meeting with the campus controllers to share our plans for campus involvement and learning and getting great feedback and ideas from them. The communication and training schedule covers August through November 2015. We’ll publish it during the first week of July so you can start planning your own calendar.
- Data conversion – We’re testing data conversion from FIN 8.4 to FIN 9.2 to make sure all goes well in November.
- Reporting Options – FIN 9.2 offers new options for reporting and managing financial data. This will be one of the first topics we delve into next month.
