This Article talks about solving the Data Source error problem in CU Tableau Server. You may see errors when connecting to Data Source in Tableau Server if you do not use full server names such as ciw.prod.cu.edu. if you use only CIW instead of ciw.prod.cu.edu you might see an error.

If you need a late migration of your My Content from old WRT or old PRD, we will open up the old environments during this session. This will be the final opportunity to move any My Content from the old CU Data environment into the new CU Data environment.
We are four weeks out from our CU-Data Upgrade! We have hosted one open session for migrating content post-upgrade along with answering any questions and we have another one planned for Thursday, January 23rd (more details to follow).

Our go-live date for our CU-Data upgrade is Monday, December 9 after 5PM. The production environment will be down briefly after 5PM until the upgrade is complete.
Report Developers will experience down time in QA and WRT (writer) environments earlier in the week as we will upgrade the QA environment on December 2 and then upgrade WRT on December 5.
*Please note that we will be in an EMERGENCY MIGRATION ONLY phase from Thursday, December 5 until Production is upgraded on Monday, December 9.

IRM is the application owner for the Cognos environment. IRM takes sole responsibility for Cognos application support, Cognos package and Cognos report migration for all campuses. If you find any error running application or reports or if you would like to migrate report to different environments please send request to irmhelp@cu.edu.
As you start to investigate and develop in the new 11.1 Report Studio interface, we wanted to provide you with some of the main changes that have occurred with this upgrade.
We will be upgrading our CU-Data (Cognos) reporting software this summer. In order to move your My Content (any reports, report views, uploaded files, data modules, etc. saved to your personal folder) from the current Cognos installation to the upgraded version, you will need to follow these steps below or in the attached document.
