UIS Highly Active at Oracle Alliance 2015 Conference – Nithin Vijayendra, Molly Doyle, Becky Kimminau, Ryan McDaniel and Milap Sharma

UIS is a strategic partner to Oracle, CU’s provider for our enterprise application systems like the portal, student, human resources and finance systems. As such, our staff are highly skilled in all aspects of implementing Oracle PeopleSoft solutions and are thus offering several presentations at Oracle’s Alliance conference March 15-18, 2015.

This week, we look at UIS’s offerings within Alliance’s Reporting & Business Intelligence and Security & Audit tracks. According to Alliance, Reporting & Business Intelligence track sessions focus on “the retrieval and presentation of information for strategic, operational, and tactical decision-making that aid and impact our students, faculty, staff, friends, and external entities.” Security & Audit track sessions “provide attendees with ideas of how other organizations are handling and addressing the creation and maintenance of user accounts, what level(s) of access are provided at the application and database level, methods/techniques used to provide the access, and how auditing mandates are met.”

Nithin Vijayendra, Senior Datastage Developer and Molly Doyle, Associate Director for Data and Business Intelligence are co-presenting a session on how CU significantly optimized the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process with a proven practice using Oracle’s Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tool. Entitled From 0 to 60: Drastically improve your ETL process runtimes and performance, this session’s goal is to provide DataStage developers with the information they need to achieve faster and more efficient run times within their own ETL processes.

Milap Sharma, Director of Application Development, is facilitating a networking and informational event for Reporting & Business Intelligence practitioners called Reporting and Business Intelligence Community Mingle. Attendees will learn about all sessions offered within this track and have the opportunity to meet colleagues and build relationships.

Becky Kimminau, PeopleSoft Security Administrator and Ryan McDaniel, Assistant Director of Identity and Access Management are co-presenting a session within the Security & Audit track entitled Securing sensitive data in Campus Solutions 101. This session addresses sensitive data security and data access configuration. McDaniel is also offering a solo session entitled Protect your users and data in PeopleSoft with 2 factor authentication. In this session, Ryan presents CU’s implementation of 2 factor authentication using Oracle’s ERP Firewall and partner Duo Security’s applications.
