New reference checking vendor debuts
Reference checking is a vital step in candidate recruitment, and the University of Colorado has launched a new reference checking vendor, Crosschq. Going forward, Human Resources offices will use Crosschq to collect references for finalist candidates.
The current reference checking software, SkillSurvey, will be retired on Nov. 30.
Timeline of the transition
- Now: Crosschq is available to use for reference checks.
- Nov. 22: System HR advises users to stop issuing SkillSurvey reference checks after this date, to ensure checks can be completed by Nov. 30.
- Nov. 30: SkillSurvey access will end.
- Dec. 1: SkillSurvey will pull data for all completed reports and send it to System HR. Reach out to Sheri Jungman to request access to specific reports.
Learn how to use Crosschq
To access Crosschq, users must complete required training before being granted access to the software. Most HR staff who will use Crosschq have completed the training and have system access. If you have not taken the required training, two sessions are available.
- 9 – 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20
- 9 – 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22
Reach out to Sheri Jungman to sign up for one of these sessions.
What to expect
Most aspects of the reference checking process in Crosschq are similar to SkillSurvey.
- HR offices can choose from 135+ role-specific survey templates and add custom questions.
- Candidates will provide their references, and Crosschq will automate delivery to their references.
- When reference checks are complete, HR offices will still see post-survey reports. These will have a slightly different look and feel but will convey the same important candidate information.
If you have any questions about Crosschq, please reach out to Sheri Jungman.
