Get a sneak peek at Skillsoft Percipio and prepare for Skillsoft outage Sept. 6 – 11

The university’s upgraded training platform, Skillsoft Percipio, will launch on Sept. 12. The platform will offer substantial improvements in usability, learning management, and content access. Users can prepare for the update with available resources and anticipate an outage for the Skillsoft platform as the upgrade is processed Sept. 6 – 11.

Complete training prior to the Skillsoft outage

The Skillsoft platform will be down starting at 5 p.m. MDT Sept. 6 and Skillsoft Percipio will go live by 8 a.m. MDT Sept. 12. While most user information will migrate, uncompleted course progress will not transfer to Skillsoft Percipio. All users must complete any in-progress courses by the outage deadline of 5 p.m. MDT Sept. 6.

If any employees have a mandatory course deadline within the outage window of Sept. 6 – 11, they must complete their course(s) by 5 p.m. MDT Sept. 6 to meet their deadline.

Suspend Instructor-Led Trainings in late August

All Instructor-Led Training (ILT), CU custom content and compliance courses will migrate to Percipio. Beginning August 26, no new ILT courses or sessions should be created and no new ILT registrations will be accepted. It is recommended to avoid holding ILT sessions Aug. 26 – Sept. 11. If you have ILTs that must happen during that time, contact system.training@cu.edu.

After Skillsoft Percipio goes live Sept. 12, all users must be aware that deep links to any courses in the current Skillsoft platform will change in Skillsoft Percipio and any documentation provided to your departments or teams will need to be updated. Skillsoft administrators, course SME’s and website managers can prepare for the transition by taking a few proactive steps:

  • Create an inventory of all deep link URLs for current courses listed on campus websites and learning assets.
  • During the Skillsoft outage, from Sept. 6 – 11, this inventory will help you easily identify and update deep links for all courses your learning audiences use.

The Percipio upgrade will feature a significant update in the platform’s visual interface, navigation and overall usability. It will still host CU’s custom-built courses, but it will also include a greatly expanded, updated library of standardized courses.

Percipio will allow users to customize their course recommendations based on their skill interests, assess their current knowledge to identify any skill gaps and recommend relevant courses to their professional development. It also offers a mobile app, allowing employees to learn on the go.
