Boulder Community Hospital and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield this week reached an agreement in principle to extend their partnership for three years.

The successful negotiation means University of Colorado faculty and staff who receive health benefits through CU Health Plans (Exclusive, Extended and High Deductible) will continue to have access to the hospital’s healthcare services.

During the negotiation process, the CU Health Plan consistently communicated the importance of local access to quality care.

At CU Boulder’s Open Enrollment sessions, CU Employee Services delivered a presentation on the negotiations to address employee concerns and fielded questions.

“Boulder Community Hospital has a long-standing relationship with the Boulder community and a history of providing great service. We know how important the facility is to CU’s Boulder-area faculty and staff, so we’re pleased to see that Anthem and the hospital came up with a solution that keeps the doors open for our members,” Chief Plan Administrator Tony DeCrosta said.
