Major update coming to CU’s Skillsoft training platform

The University of Colorado will upgrade its Skillsoft training platform to Skillsoft Percipio in August.

CU uses Skillsoft to manage its mandatory and custom training courses. The platform allows users to access a library of standardized courses, ebooks, audiobooks, and professional certification courses.

What the new platform offers

The Percipio upgrade will feature a significant update in the platform’s visual interface, navigation, and overall usability. It will still host CU’s custom-built courses, but it will include a greatly expanded, updated library of standardized courses.

Users will be able to access their accounts and training resources via a mobile app, allowing employees to learn on the go.

Percipio will allow users to customize their course recommendations based on their skill interests, assess their current knowledge to identify any skill gaps, and recommend relevant courses to their professional development.

The new platform will have all the same onboarding and mandatory training courses as before. These will be easier to find in Percipio, which features a user landing page section dedicated to cataloging outstanding required trainings.

When the Percipio platform will become active

  • All courses and trainings in the current Skillsoft platform must be completed by 5 p.m. Aug. 16 to ensure training completion records migrate to the new system.
  • The platform will be inaccessible from 5 p.m. Aug. 16 while the upgrade is underway.
  • Percipio will go live on Aug. 22.

Keep in mind any current deep links to Skillsoft content will not be the same once Percipio goes live.
